Automatic code assignment

Service scope

The 'Automatic Code Assignment' service supports you in code management by automatically assigning your codes to the category system 2.0.

The service is available in both an encrypted and an unencrypted variant. Here the code notations are hidden.

Order/ Assignment

The 'Automatic Code Assignment' service is ordered via the INFOnline Order Center.

Once the order has been received, it will be checked by INFOnline. If the order is accepted, you will receive confirmation of your digital quote and the technical integration documents.

Provision

Automatic code assignment is released by INFOnline after the service has been ordered.

For correct functioning of the automatic code assignment, please follow the technical instructions during setup or, in the case of the encrypted variant, the technical setup documentation that you receive from INFOnline.

Processing time

The order is usually checked and the usage released within 3 business days. The service can be used from the time you receive the confirmation.

Term

The service term applies from the time of confirmation by INFOnline until the service is terminated or the metering contract for the corresponding digital offering is terminated.

Termination

The notice period is always 4 weeks to the end of the quarter.

It is sufficient to send an e-mail with the reason for termination to the following address: service@infonline.de.

If you cancel the metering of the digital offer, the service will automatically expire.

Costs

All prices described below are net plus VAT. Invoices are issued quarterly in advance.

The costs consist of a one-time setup fee of €100 and an annual fee of €800 for technical provision.

Technical information

Technical requirements

The prerequisites for a correct automatic assignment of the code in the KAT2.0 system are:

  • correct integration of the measuring instrument into your digital offer
  • correct structure of the code notation according to the specifications described in chapter 2.2

The automatic assignment of a code in the KAT2.0 system is controlled by the structure of the notation. Here, individual characters decide on the assignment in the categories, so that small errors such as a character rotation can lead to an undesired assignment in the KAT2.0 system and thus to an incorrect classification of the reach of your offer and deficiencies in the check by IVW.

We therefore recommend that you take great care when compiling the codes. You can use the code template in the INFOnline Integration Guide Automatic Code Assignment Characteristics Catalog table as an aid, which automatically determines the code notation as soon as you have entered the category assignment and any free text.

Restrictions when using automatic code setting

When using automatic code assignment in the unencrypted variant, please note the following information or restrictions:

  • the assignment of the code in the KAT 2.0 system is described in the notation of the code. This assignment can be determined by third parties who read the source code of your page and know the structure of the notation.
  • You can still assign a code manually in the INFOnline Customer Center in the KAT2.0 system. In this case, automatic assignment is deactivated for this code. Manual assignment of a code always takes precedence over automatic assignment.

Integration

The following chapter is used to describe how a code must be structured when using the Automatic code assignment service so that the assignment function can be guaranteed.

The code is transmitted in the SZM tag 2.0 in the variable "cp". For all other information to be transmitted in the SZM Tag 2.0 and integration instructions for the SZM Tag 2.0, please refer to the corresponding documents provided by INFOnline.

Code notation

In order to use the automatic code assignment in the SZMnG system, the code that is transmitted in the variable "cp" when the measurement request is transmitted to the SZMnG system must comply with a predefined structure (code notation). The specifications for the code notation are explained below.

The code notation for transmitting the desired automatic assignment has a fixed structure in the first 15 characters.

The following example shows the structure in detail:

character no. explanation no. description meaning
1-2 1 two consecutive underscores " __" fixed
3-4 2 two characters for the KAT2.0 system version characteristics catalog
5 3 one underscore " _ " fixed
6 4 One character for the assignment category "language" characteristics catalog
7 5 A character for the assignment category "Format" Catalog of Characteristics
8 6 A character for the assignment category "Producer" Catalog of Characteristics
9 7 A character for the assignment category "Homepage" Catalog of Characteristics
10 8 A character for the assignment category "Delivery" Catalog of Characteristics
11 9 A character for the assignment category "App" Catalog of Characteristics
12 10 A character for the assignment category "Paid" Catalog of Characteristics
13-15 11 A character for the assignment category "Content" Catalog of Characteristics
16 12 An underscore " _ " (optional if free text follows) fixed
17-255 13 Free text (optional) fixed by offer

Characteristics catalog

Characters 3-4 and 6-15 determine the assignment of the code in the category system. For the used example code '01_dbrhowfeas_TestCode' the following assignment is made:

character no. explanation no. character assignment KAT 2.0 or note
1-2 1 __ fixed
3-4 2 01 two characters for KAT2.0 system version
5 3 _ fixed
6 4 d language: german
7 5 b format: image/text
8 6 r Producer: editorial office
9 7 h Homepage: Homepage
10 8 o Delivery: Online
11 9 w App: no app
12 10 f Paid: no Paid
13-15 11 eas Content: Other Classifieds / Classifieds
16 12 _ fixed (optional, only if free text follows)
17-255 13 TestCode Free text (optional)

Which values in characters 3-4 and 6-15 are to be used to determine the assignment in the KAT2.0 system can be found in the table INFOnline Integration Guide Automatic Code Assignment Characteristics Catalog.xlsx, which you received after ordering the service.

Note

For technical reasons, the "Paid" category must always be assigned.
